Create Cutting Optimizer Items

Creating items for Cutting Optimizer involves defining key characteristics of raw materials used in the cutting process. Dimensions, grain orientation, and supplier descriptions are added to ensure precise item identification. Various optional fields enable integration with existing items and the use of variants..

Create Items

General information
  1. To create an item, choose the icon, enter Cutting Optimizer Items, and then choose the related link.
  2. Select the new action. A blank record appaers at the top of the page.
  3. In the Type field select Panel of Length, depending on the type of material.
  4. In the Material Code field enter a self-created code. For example, MDF.

! Note
Do not add item info. Material is a short code for grouping raw materials.

  1. In the Lenth, Width and Height field enter the dimensions of the raw material in millimeters.
  2. Choose in the Structure field between None, Horizontal or Vertical. If you use material such as wood containing a grain or brushed metal, then you choose Horizontal or Vertical depending on the orientation or direction.
  3. The Discription field generally contains a supplier description. This can be their article description as the dimensions of the raw material.
  4. In the Item No. field you can link raw materials to Cutting Optimizer Items.
  5. The Variant code field can be used when you use variants in the application.
  6. The Material field contains a combination of Material Code + Height. If you have filled in Length material, it's a combination of Material Code + Width x Height.
